On August 11th, the British sloops, Pylades, 16, Commander Adam Mackenzie, and Espiegle, 16, Captain James Boorder, with the cutter Courier, 10, Lieutenant Thomas Searle, attacked the ex-British brig Crash, 12, which was lying between Schiermonnikoog and the Dutch mainland. The Courier led, followed by the other two, and after a fifty minutes' action the Dutch flag was hauled down. The British loss was three killed or wounded.
