I believe the captain Staines died without legitimate issue. He did have two illegitimate daughters Mary and Margaret however.

Our family surname was originally STAINES. I'd like to see some genealogy on Sir Thomas. My Gr-Great grandfather was William Staines born 1820 possibly in Liverpool. Wonder if he is part of the line ?

Why is there no reference to Hms Isis, which Staines commanded during this time?
