Thanks, but spelling at this time was more an art than a science. Both possibilities will almost certainly be correct but Admiralty records consistently spell his name without the additional d.
As to more info, what we have is already displayed. More may be discovered though.

The correct spelling of "Woolridge" is I believe "Wooldridge". He was awarded a Lloyd's Patriotic Fund 100 pounds sword for his gallantry as Commander of the Mediator in the Battle of the Basque Roads and awarded a medal by the King. The sword is now in Australia. One account records that he was badly burnt in that attack and, as he is my ancestor, I would appreciate any information you may have about that and the man generally.
