Portsmouth, 3 January 1801: Sir Richard Pearson, who, in the Serapis, of 44 guns, engaged Paul Jones last war off Scarborough, is appointed Lieut-Governor of Greenwich Hospital, in the room of William Lockyer, Esq, deceased. [Hampshire Telegraph, 5 January 1801]
