Gentleman's Magazine 1732 Tuesday 23 - At a Court Martial at Portsmouth on board his Majesty's ship Dreadnought (Vice-Admiral Cavendish president) Captain Cotterel of the Rose, was muted? 3 months pay for the ill treatment of his ship's company, who were permitted to be discharged from their Captains service.
Friday 26 - Capt. Cotterel, late of the Rose, was appointed Captain of the Lowestoffe, and Captain Windham appointed Commander of the Rose.
