I have complete information on the ships and career of Admiral Sir John Kingcome KCB if you would like them. He was one of only 3 'tar admirals' in the nineteenth century having risen from 'second class boy' to admiral. There are no published sources to the information other than a manuscript archived by the Plymouth Library and the Devon Family History Society by Alan Axworthy and myself charting John Kingcome's career using Muster Lists and Captain's Logs at The National Archives and other sources.
