London, 25 February 1802: The following ships were daily expected to arrive at the island of St Helena from Madras and Bengal, viz, The Walpole, Captain James Sandilands; the Asia, Captain Robert Wardlaw; the Calcutta, Captain William Maxwell; the Sir Stephen Lushington, Captain George Gooch; the Charlton, Captain John Altham Cumberlege; the Duke of Montrose, Captain Patrick Burt; and the Dover Castle, Captain Peter Sampson. The above ships sailed from England in March last, and arrived at Madras in the August following. [The Morning Chronicle, 25 February 1802]
