ADM 106
17.5.1698 Commissioner Sir Edward Gregory, Chatham. William Elfee, Teamer of the Yard, who has been in post for 19 years, is disabled by sickness and is unable to tend his cattle and servants and manage the farm. He has asked if he may resign and pass his work to his friend, Thomas Trott, who is most qualified to do it. Elfee is very ill with consumption and wishes to wind up his affairs before he dies. If this is refused, he is content to die in post.ADM 106
