Portsmouth, 18 July 1801: On Monday last a Court Martial was held on board the Gladiator, in this harbour, on Lieutenant John Alexander Douglas, of His Majesty’s sloop Hazard, for absenting himself from the said ship without leave.Rear-Admiral Holloway, President. M Greetham, Esq, Judge-Advocate.The charge being proved he was dismissed the service. [Portsmouth Telegraph, 20 July 1801]
