Last week died at Bury St Edmund’s, much regretted by all his acquaintance, Edw Gascoyne, Esq, late Captain of the Dublin man of war, who had long been in the service of his country, and upon all occasions, acquitted himself with great bravery and resolution. [Exeter Mercury, 4 January 1765]
