Hi - Re comment by Charnock 25/02/2018 - can you please provide source of Zealous going to Tetuan, best I can find is sent to Gibraltar. FYI - my 4th gt grandfather was a Royal Marine aboard Zealous.

You are quite correct. It was because his command of the Achille, which was at Trafagar, had been entered with an end date of 1805.

Thomas Oakes Hardy was not at the Battle of Trafalgar; his ship, the Zealous was one of five sent on October 2nd by Nelson to Tetuan to provision, and on into the Mediterranean to escort a convoy. They only returned to the fleet off Cadiz a week after the battle.
