According to the will of Thomas Lindsay of Montrose proved London twenty fifth day of September in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Six:
* at present Masters mate on board His Majesty's ship the
Atlas numbered eighteen upon the Ships Books
* on board His Majesty’s ship the Atlas at sea off Madrid [I think] this tenth day of March in the year of
Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Five and
in the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the
Third of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland
King reformer of the faith etc etc etc his Forty Sixth year
* witnessed by S Pym Captain and Wm Mowbray Master HMS Atlas
I wonder if Thomas died in Action of San Domingo
Anyway thought this would be useful for your dates for the Samuel Pym and William Mowbray. Happy to send copy of the proved will. Not sure how he is related but I am Australian descended from a John Lindsay seaman of Montrose and his some Robert immigrated to Australia in mid to late 1700's
