Portsmouth, 4 April 1801: His Majesty’s cutter Union, Lieut Rowed, arrived at Spithead on Monday night with the Friendship brig, which the Union re-captured the previous night close in with Cherbourg. The Friendship was captured by a French privateer the day previous, to the re-capture, about six miles from Portland. [Hampshire Telegraph, 5 April 1801]

London, undated: Distribution of prize money. To the crew of the hired armed cutter Union, for the capture of the French privateers Le Renard and Le Modeu, and at the recapture of the Atlas, by the Nemesis, will be paid their proportions arising from said captures and recapture on the 26th of February at Portsmouth.
