Portsmouth, 29 June 1816: On Wednesday the Apollo frigate was hauled up one of the building slips in this dock-yard, to be repaired; every thing was arranged with so much judgment, and executed with equal promptness, that not the least accident or obstacle occurred. The purchase from the viol-block was immense, and but for the unfavourableness of the weather, some thousands of spectators would have been present to witness such a gratifying sight.
