Admiralty-Office, December 23, 1782. Extract of a letter from Captain Thoinas Pringle, Commander of His Majesty's Ship Daedalus, to Mr. Stephen, dated at Spithead, December 13, 1782.

I beg you will inform their Lordships, that yesterday at noon, close in with shore of Mount's Bay, I took the French Cutter Privateer La Legere of Dunkerkque, George Furnald Commander, mounting 8 guns and manned with 40 men ; which privateer had been 3 days out ot Brest.
