Good day, this ship under the command of Capt. Nicolo Armeni from Corfu participated in the 1716 Siege of Corfu in the Venetian Armada.

Nicolo Armeni: Naval Captain who served in the Venetian fleet as ‘Capitano di Nave’ during the Ottoman siege of Corfu in 1716. In 1717 he was enslaved at Nauplion by the Ottomans who returned from the Siege of Corfu. He was forced to serve on the ship of the Ottoman Admiral, Pasha Giannum Cioga ‘Giannum Hotza'. During the same year (1717) he escaped during the night and fled to the island of Hydra, moving to another island in the archipelago. The Ottoman Admiral put a bounty of 1000 Zecchini on his head leading the Greeks to capture him. The Greeks from the island led him in a small boat to the Ottoman Admiral but were stopped en-route by a Maltese corsair. The Greeks pretended to be passengers on their way to work when the Captain revealed his true identity. He was set free and taken onboard the Maltese corsair (tartane) after which the small Greek boat was sent to the bottom of the sea with its entire crew.
