Lieut. Abraham Palmer, the Europa, Carlisle Bay, Barbados. He reports the death of his Captain on 3 July. On 13 May a ship of the Royal African Company arrived from Guinea with negroes. It was thought the Company was being cheated and Mr. Gaskin went on board and mustered 60 odd extra negroes more than the factor gave. On 17 June they acted as convoy for merchant ships bound for England, but as their ship sprang a leak, they returned to port and are making repairs. As Lieutenant Roger Davis has been absent, his Excellency has given him a commission as Lieutenant, he formerly being Chief Mate. Lieut. Davis is said to be on his way with a galliot and they are short of provisions.
