Endymion, Cove of Cork, May 27th, 1798.
SIR, I beg leave to acquaint you, that His Majesty's Ship Endymion, under my command, has made the following captures since she sailed from Cork under your orders.

La Revanche, French Schooner Privateer, of Twelve Brass 6-pounders and 88 men, coppered, victualled and stored for 3 months Cruize ; out 21 days ; had taken nothing.

Le Brutus, French Lugger Privateer, of Six 6-pounders and 50 men, fitted for 2 months cruize, out 15 days, and had taken 2 Neutral Ships.

The St. Antonia, Spanish Schooner, pierced for Sixteen Guns, had Six 6-pounders only mounted, last from the Havannah, and charged with dispatches from thence and South America, for Spain ; the dispatches were thrown overboard, attached to one of the Vessel's anchors, but were recovered by the Endymion's boat.

Les Huit Amis, French Ship Privateer, of 20 6-pounders and 160 men, entirely new, built for the purpose of a Ship of War, and never before at sea; fitted, victualled, and stored, in the most complete manner, for 4 months cruize; out 20 Days, had taken nothing.

I have the Honor to be, Sec.
THO. WILLIAMS
