Extract of a letter from the Honorable Captain Curzon, Commander of His Majesty's Ship Pallas to Evan Nepean, Esq; dated at Spithead the 20th of July 1797.
On the 16th Instant, being in Latitude 44 deg. 50 min. Longitude 15 deg. 10 min. I fell in with and captured the Spanish Ship Letter of Marque St. Jose y Nostra Signora de Begoyna, mounting 16 6-pounders, with 52 men, laden with brandy, wine and flour, from Bilboa, bound to the Caraccas; out 12 days, and had not taken any thing. I arrived here this day with His Majesty's Ship under my command, in company with the prize.
