Extract of a letter from Captain Wood of His Majesty's Ship Hound to Evan Nepean, Esq dated at Sea the 15 June 1798

I have to acquaint you for the information of their Lordships that at 1AM on the 14 Instant , Scaw bearing E.S.E. 10 leagues , I captured the Dutch Lugger Sea Hound, pierced for 14 guns, but having only 7 mounted and 4 swivels, manned with 30 men; she has been 6 weeks from Holland.

Prize Money: Hound – Will be paid for the Dutch privateer Zeehound, on board at Yarmouth, the 6th of January. Recall, No 125 Borough of Southwark. [Portsmouth Telegraph, 30 December 1799]
