To Rear-Admiral Sir Edward Pellew, Bart. &c. &c. &c.
Hii Majesty's Ship Duncan, off the Isle de France, April 29, 1806.

Sir I have the Honour to inform you, after having spoke His Majesty's Ship Psyche, and delivered your orders to Captain Wooldridge for his further proceedings, on my return to join you,  I fell in with and captured, on the 8th instant, after a chace of 5 hours the French Brig Privateer Ile de France, mounting 6 12-pounder carronades and 2 long brass Nines, (the former of which (he hove overboard during the chace,) manned with 71 men, and had only been out 24 hours from Port N. I have the Honour to be, sec. (Signed)
