On the order of Commissioner Vanbrugh the Master of the Boyne tender, lately under my command, sailed for Dublin on 24 August to be paid off. Not having received any other instructions has remained in Plymouth having delivered his journals and obtained a certificate that there is no objection to payment of wages due. Commissioner Vanbrugh is unwilling to do so until he is informed whether wages are due until the tender is discharged or only until 24 August. Asks for instructions.
