Sir , I have the satisfaction to acquaint you, that at daylight this morning, London Bridge Rock bearing East 3 leagues, I discovered a suspicious vessel to the Southward ; and, after a chace of 4 hours, came up with and captured the French Sloop Privateer Le Tigre, mounting 2 6-pounders and 26 men, out from Guadaloupe 15 days, and had taken a Mail Boat. I have much satisfaction in this capture, as she sails very fast, and had done considerable damage to the coasting trade of St. Lucia and St. Vincent's.
I have the Honour to be, &c.
