Thursday, vessel ot 1,400 ton* burden, built by Messrs. Gordon, the ship builders, of Deptford was launched from the yard atth.it place. The vessel to which the name of the Sussex.” had been given was built the above firm fur the Hast India Company, for the purpose of replacing the Kent, which was recently destroyed by hre in the Bay of Biscay, her outward-bound passage. The day was extremely propitious, and, it being understood that his Royal Highness the Duke of Sussex was to he present, an immense concourse of spectators assembled lo witness the ceremony. About half-past one, bis Royal Highness, accompanied by imveral noblemen and gentlemen, arrived, and they by Mr. Gordon and others of the firm,
