Portsmouth, 13 July 1816: The Banterer, Capt Charles Warde, arrived at Spithead on Wednesday from the Mediterranean. She left Malaga the 12th, Gibraltar the 14th, and Cadiz the 21st of June; called at Lisbon, and sailed from thence, the 1st instant. She has brought home a quantity of specie, merchants money. On Friday she was released from quarantine, and ordered to proceed to Deptford, to be paid off. [Hampshire Chronicle, 15 July 1816]
