Portsmouth, 9 November 1799: We are happy to hear that the Lutine frigate had only £300,000 sterling on board, and that the remainder of the exported million may be daily expected to be returned by various conveyances. [Hampshire Telegraph, 11 November 1799]

Portsmouth, 2 November 1799: The letters received on Saturday from the Helder state, that the Lutine was lost late at night, to the north of Fly Island. They state also, that this melancholy accident was occasioned by her being driven too near the Island by the strong currents which set into the Weser and Elbe. [Hampshire Telegraph, 4 November 1799]

The only survivor of those who were unfortunately on board the Lutine frigate is Mr Shabbrack, a notary public. [Hampshire Telegraph, 28 November 1799]

Portsmouth, 19 October 1799: We are sorry to state that La Lutine frigate is lost on the coast of Holland, and every soul, except one, perished. She had a quantity of specie on board. [Hampshire Telegraph, 21 October 1799]
