In 1810 Nyaden 36 sailed with a governor for one of the new French island acquisitions, and then undertook cruises, mostly with Barbados as a base. Very unhealthy ship, with four dozen personnel dying of yellow fever. In April, 1811 Frederick Cotterell died, probably of yellow fever. The ship was used as a descriptive medical case in the last half of the 19th century.
