Edward Henry Columbine, HMS Resolution, St Fiorenzo [San Fiorenzo, Corsica] Bay. Reports that he was becalmed yesterday with a merchant brig between Bastia and Cape Corse. He was attacked from the shore by seven French gun boats. He managed to sink the lead vessel, at which the remainder fled. He did not attempt to pursue them, in case the merchant vessel was captured. He reports his high satisfaction with his officers and men.
