28 May 1800 a court martial was held at Sheerness, on board the Savage, sloop of war, on Lieutenant Wheatly and his Clerk, of the Gelykheidt prison ship, at Gillingham, for drunkenness and neglect of duty, ungentlemanlike conduct, embezzlement of stores, tyranny, and oppression, but the charges being malicious and ill founded, they were acquitted.

11 Sep 1801 a Court Martial was held on board the Waarzaamheid, at Sheerness, to try Mr. Palmer, Surgeon of the Savage sloop of war, for drunkenness and not attending to his duty. The charges being in part proved against him, he was dismissed from his situation as Surgeon, but allowed to serve as Surgeon's Mate in any of his Majesty's ships Admiral Graeme should think proper.
