This ship was built in Amsterdam (not Dunkerque) between 1811 and 1816 for the French Imperial navy, as l'Audacieux. Pluton sub-class of Téméraire class. After fall of French Empire ceded to the new Dutch Navy in 1814 and completed as 'Coalitie' but renamed 'Wassenaar' (not Wassenaer) on completion. Foundered on 16 Jan 1827 on Dutch coast near Egmond aan Zee, enrout to Neth. East Indies with 650 soldiers annd 250 crew, only 23 people perished.
