On October 17th, the Hazard, 18, Commander Hugh Cameron, and Pelorus, 18, Commander Thomas Huskisson, sent in their boats, under Lieutenants James Robertson and Edward Flin, to destroy a privateer which lay secured under the guns of Sainte Marie, Guadeloupe. She was boarded and blown up under a heavy fire, the British losing 6 killed and 9 wounded, many of them by the explosion.
