NB re Firebrand:
From Wiki: "HMS Penguin was a 20-gun post ship. She was originally launched in 1731 as Dolphine, then renamed Firebrand, and finally renamed Penguin in 1757. The French captured her in 1760."

Sorry wrong Robert Mann, confused him with his son Robert Mann 1748 to 1813 his father had been mortally wounded on 7/3/1762 while in combat with the French Gloire
