I find no sea duty for Lt. Henry Newton during the American war until 11 Sep 1778 when he was ordered to command the Elizabeth & Mary, Tender (ADM 2/105, p.316). The hired fleet tender, Elizabeth & Mary, 2 x 2-pdrs + 4 swivels, Caleb Burrows, Master [& Owner?] was in service from 03 Dec 1776 to 29 June 1782. I find no record of another commanding office after Henry Newton.
