This is the John Pitman who married Magdalene Mignan in Dec 1738 and wrote his will in Jan 1739, when he was 2nd Lieut on the Princess Louisa. He was Captain of the Drake inon 21 Nov 1742 when the other John was still a 2nd Lieut. This John, married to Magdalene, was captain of the Saltash. His will was probated Aug 1746 by the oath of his widow Magdalene.
