Thanks for this great site. I have been researching my 6th great uncle Captain Joseph Winder for some years now and have found some of his service information but this is the most comprehensive so far. I have a copy of his will date 1738. He died in 1737 aged 75. He lived in Castle Street, Bloomsbury. A facsimile of his log book from the Battle of Cape Passaro in 1718 is held at the British Library. My cousin has just discovered a bunch of letters relating to his service in the Navy.
