Served as Senior Lieut on Princess Charlotte from 16.2.37 and served through Syrian operations (medal and clasp; Turkish medal). As 2nd Capt. of Formidable 1841-44 witnessed establishment of the Greek Constitution and awarded the Gold Cross of the Redeemer, which he was not allowed to accept. From Dec. 1845, Inspecting officer of the Coast Guard.
