25.6.1727 Homeward-bound from the West Indies, the ship was lost by fire in mid-Atlantic. Boys and twenty-two others escaped in a sixteen-foot open boat without food or water. After thirteen days six of them had survived to reach Newfoundland by living on the bodies of their dead shipmates.ODNB
