This is not the Loring who commanded Bellerophon (and probably not Prince), that was John Loring (JWL's first cousin). JWL's entry in the DNB lists him commanding Fleche, Comet, Rattler (acting), Lark, Abergavenny (acting) and Syren, before 1803. Then the Utrecht, Aurora, Niobe (1805-13) and Impregnable. The Salvador del Mundo is therefore probably John Loring, rather than JWL.
