Published in Gentleman's Magazine (Deaths) Nov. 1789 - At Cronstadt, after a short illness, aged 31, Sir. Sam. Elphinstone, knight of the order of St. George, Captain of His Imperial Majesty's ship Prince Gustaaf, and Lieutenant in his britannic Majesty's Navy
