John Norcott is my gggg grandfather who was a sea captain in New London, CT during the late 1700’s. During the Revolutionary War he served as a seaman aboard the Privateers Recovery and Hermione (Harmony). After the war Capt. Norcott was involved with the West Indian trade. He was lost at sea, presumably aboard the Brig Sally on October 20, 1796.
