London, 2 April 1752: On Thursday evening Sir Edward Hawke arrived at Portsmouth, and on Friday morning his Flag as Rear-Admiral (being the Blue at the fore-topmast-head) was hoisted on board the Monarch in that harbour. [Kentish Post, 4 April 1752]
