Cunningham has an armorial gravestone inside St Peters Church Eye Suffolk and a hatchment in the tower chamber. He resided at Oaklawn in Hoxne. His coat of arms with a unicorn for a crest are those of a branch of the family in Scotland any ideas to which branch would be of interest.

Sir Charles had a keen interest in lexcographical works viz. Samuel Johnson's Dictionary printed by John Jarvis and sold by John Fielding in 1786 - hence the attachment of his signature to a limited number editions most of which being destroyed by a fire on 7 June 1787 in Jarvis' printing shop
