I believe this Robert Browne shipped as Master's Mate on HMS Cyrus, Armed Transport, joining on 09 Apr 1783, then serving as Master commencing 26 Nov 1783 following the death of Lieut & Cmdr James Turner at Halifax, then appointed as Lieut & Cmdr commencing 23 July 1784 following the death at sea of Lieut & Cmdr Anthony Davison on 16 July 1784. Browne commanded until superseded 25 Jan 1786 at English Harbor, Antigua.
