The Gentleman's magazine. v.47 1777.
(in part) she sailed and ordered the Druid to strike to the honour of the Congress colours, hoisted her ensign, and fired a broadside, which sent a shot through the Captains (Carteret) thigh bone, and killed the Master; on which Lieutenant Bourchier [the letter writer] took the command.
