26.4.1708 On April 26, 1708 , Guillaume-André Hebert arrived by the "Saint-Louis" in the bay of Saint-Denis , was "Envoy of the King to India for the execution of the orders of His Majesty , Director General of the Royal East India Company , and in this capacity one of the lords of Isle Bourbon" . André Hebert remained on the island until May 18, 1708 . It was he , as director of the Compagnie des Indes and governor of Pondicherry , who authorized the departure of the former governor De Villers . It was he again who appointed the new Governor , Michel-François des Bordes de Charanville , and Pierre Deharamboure as company secretary and tax attorney .ref:631
