Capture of Cuxhaven

Commencing 28 November 1813, a British squadron, consisting of Desiree, Shamrock, Blazer, Piercer, Redbreast, gunboats No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, under the command of Captain Farquhar, began the bombardment of two French batteries at Cuxhaven. They surrendered on 30 November 1830 to Russian troops, with the capture of 26 heavy guns, 2 13in mortars, and a blockhouse with 300 officers and men
