It appears to be one of those, unfortunately common, cases where a local commission didn't make it into the official records. I'll make amendments when I have time

In your book you show him on the Lancaster at the Battle of Minorca. AFTER this, on 21 May 1756 he became 6th Lt of the Ramillies, then 7 June 5th Lt, then 26 June 4th Lt, as per Gardiner's covering note I've posted in the forum. Thanks
