Hi
Yes he did command Goodwill, but this is not the correct officer's page. If you look at the page for William Lawes (note the spelling) you will see the command listed, all be it with slightly different dates.

Lieutenant William Lawes assumed command of cutter Goodwill on April 1763 and relinquish command in 1768 supersede by lt Thomas Plint
