Plymouth, 5 March 1801: Letters from the Excellent, of 74 guns, the Hon Capt Stopford, dated the 24th instant, off Quiberon, state, that a flag of truce was sent into L’Orient, where intelligence was received, that the Lurcher cutter, of 12 guns, Lieut Forbes, supposed to have been wrecked, was taken and carried in there, by a French lugger privateer, of 16 guns. Lieut Forbes, his officers and men were well. [London Packet, 6 March 1801]
