The Americans , after the capture of Newport , put the Flora back afloat and repaired it . She was then taken to Bordeaux where the French Navy bought her back in September 1784. She then bore the name of American Flore to distinguish her from the frigate Flore built in the meantime and launched in 1769 .
FWIKIThe French Navy restored her between January and May 1786 .
FWIKIIn 1788 , she was rearmed in a corvette with 8-pounder guns .
From 1788 to 1789 , Flag-ship of the Division Naval of the Coast of Africa .
FWIKIShe was then withdrawn from service and sent to Rochefort to be decommissioned two years later and sold on July 4, 1792 .
